The book has transitioned from searching for the cause of death of the 5 total victims and finding their connection with each other to trying to track who has put the new disease out there. It went from very disgusting, gory, and kind of terrifyingly violent (so disgusting that my mom, who was a vet and used to cut up animals for a living, won't let me talk about it where she can hear) to a sort of intense military operation. They have to use forensics to track who might have found it, and also have to figure out where the bad guy will strike next. They know he genetically modified an insect virus and the common cold virus to make an illness that humans can get--it's super contagious and makes its victims turn suddenly violent and self-cannibalistic, kind of like rabies I think. Now the book is like a spy book in a way, something out of James Bond...

  1. What do you think about this turn of events? Hopefully, your mom (and you) are okay with this book!
